Jumping Into Spring J&B Restaurant Partners Proudly Supports American Heart Association Jump Rope For Heart

April 22, 2004 -- J&B Restaurant Partners of Long Island, Inc, (J&B), franchisee of all LI Friendly's restaurants is supporting the American Heart Association's (AHA), "Jump Rope For Heart (JRFH) campaign" for the 2003-2004 school season. As part of that support, all 33 Friendly's restaurants throughout Nassau and Suffolk County will be placing Jump Rope For Heart collection canisters in their restaurants from now until May 15. The money raised will be used to support the Jump Rope For Heart program as well as for various research projects that the American Heart Association currently supports. "Friendly's of Long Island believes strongly in promoting a healthy lifestyle for all of our families through good nutrition and exercise and this is just one way we can accomplish that," explains Jerry Snearly, J&B Chief Financial Officer.

During this school year, J&B has supported the Jump Rope For Heart program by issuing special "Happy Ending Sundae" coupons to every student participating in the program. The coupons have been a huge success in the school. In addition to the coupons, J&B will also award the highest Jump Rope For Heart fundraising school $2,000 and the top three fundraising students in Nassau and Suffolk Counties will be honored with a new bike. "This is a great way for us to support the schools as they emphasize the importance of being in good shape, using proper nutrition and helping others while enjoying the thrill of doing something physical," explains Joe Vitrano, J&B's President & CEO.

Youth Market, LI, Brooklyn, Queens applauds Long Island Friendly's ongoing tradition of consideration and concern for the communities it serves. By sponsoring the American Heart Association Jump Rope For Heart program, all Friendly's Restaurants on LI are supporting kids and healthy hearts!"

J&B invites everyone to visit their neighborhood Friendly's and contribute to this campaign, Collection canisters are being placed in every Friendly's restaurant throughout Nassau and Suffolk County through May15. All proceeds got to the American Heart Association Jump Rope for Heart.
